Key Responsibilities • Investment Strategy: Assist in the development and annual review of the Statement of Investment Policy and Objectives (SIPO). • Portfolio Oversight: Monitor the performance of long-term portfolios (equities, bonds, etc.) to ensure they meet the Trust’s investment and distribution requirements and inflation-adjusted growth targets. • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the portfolio's asset allocation aligns with the Trust’s risk appetite and "intergenerational" timeframe. • Reporting: Assist with the translation of complex investment performance data into clear, actionable insights for the wider Board. ________________________________________ Desired Experience & Skills
Feature Requirement Professional Background Experience in Financial Investment Management, Wealth Management, or Institutional Banking. Technical Knowledge Understanding of asset allocation, modern portfolio theory, and global financial markets. Governance Prior experience on a Board or Investment Committee is preferred Local Connection A passion for the work of charitable organisations in the Bay of Plenty. Some experience of the role of Coastguard units would also be ideal but not critical.
