**Help Create a Warm and Caring Environment for Families**

The Brain Injured Children Trust is looking for friendly, reliable and community-minded volunteers to assist in our kitchen during our annual Support & Wellness Clinic.

Food plays an important role in helping families feel cared for, comfortable and supported during the clinic. As a Volunteer Kitchen Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Head Chef and volunteer team to help prepare and serve nourishing meals for children, parents and staff throughout the event.

Whether you enjoy cooking, helping behind the scenes, working as part of a team, or simply making life easier for others — we would love to hear from you.

No professional kitchen experience is required — just a positive attitude and willingness to help.

**What You’ll Be Doing**

- Assisting the Head Chef with food preparation

- Helping prepare morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner

- Assisting with serving meals and refreshments

- Supporting dishwashing, kitchen cleaning and pack-down

- Helping maintain a smooth, organised and welcoming kitchen environment

- Working alongside a supportive and friendly volunteer team

**What We’re Looking For**

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

- Friendly, reliable and happy to help where needed

- Comfortable working in a busy team environment

- Positive, flexible and able to follow instructions

- Passionate about supporting families and the community

- Willing to assist with both food preparation and general kitchen tasks

Kitchen, hospitality or catering experience is helpful, but definitely not essential. We welcome anyone who enjoys being part of a team and contributing to a meaningful cause.

This role may especially suit:

- Hospitality or culinary students

- Café or restaurant workers

- Retirees wanting to give back to the community

- Home cooks and people who enjoy preparing food for others

- Anyone looking to support families in a practical and rewarding way

We are very flexible and appreciate any time you can offer.

Kitchen support is needed during the following shifts:

- 9.30am – 2.00pm
